No Woman No Cry: My Life with Bob Marley
At a glance she knows he is playing the glade
She hustles ideas, there are mouths to feed
She takes her sour, and makes lemonade
When we were young, beautiful music we made
This thought cannot be borne, in pressing need
At a glance she knows he is playing the glade
Admirers, uninvited, praised him and stayed
Sitting around drinking wine, hops and mead
She takes her sour, and makes lemonade
She gives guests her own bed, in loving aid
Spends more time in the garden, pulling up weed
At a glance she knows he is playing the glade
She records and spins, adapts in mad cascade
Sometimes feeling blind, but walking in deed
She takes her sour, and makes lemonade
Bullets can kill; hearts grow stronger betrayed
She watches herself fall, feels herself bleed
At a glance she knows he is playing the glade
She is singing again, in swinging braid
Travels with family; plants new fruit seed
At a glance she knew he was playing the glade
She took her sour, and made lemonade
